DAY 9

This week your focus will be on expanding your practice. You will learn about some newer forms of meditation that you can add to your skillset. The techniques you will learn are Visualization Meditation, Movement Meditation, and Focused Meditation.

Today's Exercise: Follow along with the attached Video & Perform Movement Meditation with me for 15 minutes.

Movement Meditation: This meditation focuses on the body in motion. Many other meditations require you to be still and in one position, this is what makes Movement Meditation so special. It is just another way to expand your awareness throughout your day. It’s great for those who have trouble sitting still for long periods or find it easier to concentrate while they are moving. (e.g. walking, stretching, yoga, dancing, sports, cooking, etc.)

Once meditation has been completed, please refer to the Journal Entry below and answer the prompt. The Daily Task can be done whenever you like. That is solely up to you! Have an amazing day!!

Quick Tip: I challenge you to do a stretching meditation with me today! Simply just follow along with the video I have provided! First, we will scan our bodies to notice any areas we may have tightness or discomfort in. Then we will concentrate on doing a full body stretch to help release that tension or pain. The main thing here is that you are getting in touch with your body, listening to it, and taking time to take care of it.

Warning: If you are unable to put your body in certain positions, please do not do this exercise. If you are unable to do certain movements or feel any pain or discomfort during this exercise, please do not continue. You also always have the option to skip the stretches you cannot do as well. If you are unable to perform this meditation, then please perform a mindful meditation for 15 minutes on your own instead. Please contact a medical professional if you are unsure that you can complete these exercises.

Journal Entry: Write the obstacles you face for practicing self-care daily. How can you overcome at least one of them?

Daily Task: Make it a priority today to set aside some time to relax, rest, and re-energize yourself. Get plenty of sleep if you can!
